Job Summary
We are embarking on a transformative journey to implement Workday as our new Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This initiative is a key part of our strategy to enhance operational efficiency, improve data accuracy, offer an improved employee experience, and drive better decision-making across the organization.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Data Transformation and Governance Lead to spearhead our Workday data conversion and data life cycle management. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful migration of data from legacy systems to Workday, as well as establishing and driving robust data governance and stewardship practices across the organization.

Where is the work: This is a Remote position.
What You Will Do- Data Conversion Leadership:
- Lead the end-to-end data conversion process from legacy systems to Workday, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data conversion strategy, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation, working with our implementation partner.
- Partner and collaborate as technical lead with cross-functional teams, including HR, and external technology vendors, to ensure seamless data migration.
- Identify and mitigate data-related risks and issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure project milestones are met.
- Integrate and use automated data migration tools and scripts to streamline the data conversion process.
- Facilitate data profiling and cleansing activities to ensure high-quality data is migrated to Workday.
- Data Governance and Stewardship:
- Partner with the Enterprise Data and Analytics Organization to establish an employee data governance framework to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across HR and IT organizations.
- Develop and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity and security.
- Monitor and report on data quality metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives and playing an active role on the employee data governance council.
- Integrate data lineage and metadata management tools as applicable to track data flow and transformations.
- Develop and maintain a data dictionary and data catalog to facilitate data understanding and usage.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary IT lead and point of contact for data-related matters, engaging with senior leadership, business units, and external partners.
- Communicate data governance and conversion strategies, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
- Provide training and support to data stewards and other key stakeholders to ensure adherence to data governance practices.
- Project Management:
- Develop and manage IT project plans, timelines, and delivery for data conversion and future data governance activities as IT lead.
- Ensure timely delivery of data-related milestones, maintaining alignment with the broader Workday implementation timeline and agile methodology.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, scrum calls, and provide updates to stakeholders and senior management weekly.
- Technical Expertise:
- Leverage SQL and other database query languages to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data as needed.
- Align the right data encryption and masking techniques to protect sensitive employee information and meet security policy compliance.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data migration processes to ensure efficient data transfer.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) working on core HR and employee technology/applications including data management, preferably within large-scale global organizations.
- Experience in Workday HCM data migration processes as well as conversion from core legacy applications like Taleo, Peoplesoft, Success Factors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex data projects and project delivery
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Compensation:
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
