Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems at Edwards Air Force Base is seeking a Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) to support a high‑impact program. You will drive manufacturing flow, scheduling and optimization, and partner with cross‑functional teams to implement robust analytics and SAP/MRP alignment.

The role requires active DoD Secret clearance, up to 10% travel, and the ability to work a 2nd shift 4/10 schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Project Management or manufacturing related field.
Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum 1 year of EVMS experience.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
Ability to travel at least 10%.
Ability to work 2nd shift 4/10 work schedule.

Responsibilities

Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand.
Builds scalable models to optimize product flow with cost, schedule, and resource constraints.
Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP with executable plans.
Accounts for complex interdependencies across cost centers, programs, and equipment.
Communicates planning requirements with IT, ERP, analytics and data science teams.
Designs an interactive UI with developers for scheduling across cost centers.
Leads digital transformation aligned with sector strategies and agile methods.
Creates metrics and visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.
Completes time studies and follows through with action items.
