Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support production and manufacturing operations at our Central Virginia facilities in Waynesboro, VA. You will apply simulation, optimization, and data visualization to improve plant layouts, processes, and efficiency.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of IE experience (Master’s reduces experience needs), proficiency with MES/SAP/Tableau, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM with 5+ years in manufacturing/IE; Master’s degree reduces required experience.
• Experience with advanced IE systems (MES, SAP, Tableau) and data analysis.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; US Citizenship required; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and use simulation models to optimize plant configurations, processes, and routing.
• Analyze lead times, queue times, WIP, cycle times, and throughput to meet demand.
• Lead Continuous Improvement activities (5S, VSM, Kaizen, 6-Sigma) and standardization.
• Translate business questions into actionable data insights and visualizations.
• Coordinate facility capital plan execution.
