Job summary

Roblox Corporation is seeking a Principal Reliability Operations Engineer to lead production incidents and improve incident processes across our distributed platform. You will own incident response and drive postmortems to prevent recurrence.

In this senior role, you will monitor health and capacity, contribute to architecture decisions, mentor teammates, and automate routine tasks with Python or Golang, while reporting to the Reliability leadership.

Qualifications

• At least 8+ years of experience in a comparable Site Reliability role.
• Advanced knowledge of systems and network infrastructure.
• Experience managing incidents in distributed environments.
• Ability to distill complex technical issues into clear language.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (Python or Golang preferred).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/CE or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production incidents.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot challenges.
• Guide incident management processes and procedures, ensuring fast responses.
• Continually monitor system health, performance and capacity.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses to ascertain root causes and corrective actions.
• Contribute to design and enhancement of system architecture for reliability and performance.
• Leverage coding to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
• Serve in the Incident Manager On-Call rotation.
• Mentor junior team members.
