Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Operations Engineer to lead production incidents and improve incident processes within the Reliability team. You will maintain SLOs, drive incidents to resolution, and work with service teams to implement effective postmortems and preventive actions.

Responsibilities include shaping system architecture for reliability and performance, automating daily tasks with scripts, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a Site Reliability role.
• Advanced knowledge of systems and network infrastructure protocols.
• Experience managing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents in distributed environments.
• Ability to distill complex issues into clear language.
• Experience with scripting to automate tasks (Python, Golang).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/CE or similar field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production incidents.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot and resolve challenges.
• Guide incident management processes and ensure fast responses.
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity; address issues proactively.
• Conduct postmortems to determine root causes and preventive actions.
• Contribute to design and improvement of system architecture for reliability.
• Automate daily tasks to improve efficiency.
• Serve in the Incident Manager On-Call rotation.
• Mentor junior team members.
