UDR Consulting, INC seeks a Principal Engineer- Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer for the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. Responsibilities include design engineering staff augmentation, HVAC design development, and generation of design output documents.

Education requirements include PhD with 5+ years, MS with 8+ years, or BS with 10+ years of experience, plus extensive knowledge of NFPA/ASHRAE/ASME codes and field walkdown capability.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in applicable science or engineering with 5+ years experience, or MS with 8+ years, or BS with 10 years.
• 10 years HVAC design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industries.
• Knowledge of NFPA 90A, 90B, 91, and 801; ASHRAE Fundamentals; ASME AG-1, 509 and 510; SMACNA; and ARI 410, 430 and 450.
• Ability to walk down systems in the field.

Aufgaben

• Provide design engineering staff augmentation to SRNS.
• HVAC design development and generation of design output documents including calculations for equipment sizing, duct sizing, pressure drops, cooling tower sizing, heating and cooling loads, and air balancing.
• Create/modify piping and instrumentation diagrams, system descriptions, mechanical equipment lists, integration with fire protection design, and vendor document reviews.
• Engineering Services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
• Lead in solving complex problems and coordinate with other teams; develop budgets and schedules.
