Job summary

RTX is recruiting for a Principal Systems Engineer - Missile Guidance, Navigation, and Control in Tucson, AZ. You will help evaluate, design, implement, and integrate embedded software algorithms for 6-DoF simulations, collaborating with an integrated product team on tactical flight software.

This onsite role requires a strong background in GNC, modeling/simulation, and MATLAB/Python/C/C++ development. Qualified candidates typically hold an engineering degree with extensive relevant experience,

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• GNC, signal processing, and/or modeling/simulation experience.
• Experience in missile system applications, including at least two of: digital/modern control systems, dynamics, Kalman filter design, Monte Carlo analysis, system verification/validation, GPS/INS navigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and test embedded tactical missile flight code.
• Lead system-level performance studies to inform new capabilities and obsolescence mitigation.
• Work within an agile framework to manage backlogs, plans, and metrics.
• Mentor and train engineers to improve efficiency and execution.
• Support missile performance analysis including model development and Monte Carlo assessments.
