Job summary

RTX is hiring for a Principal Systems Engineer - Missile Guidance, Navigation, and Control in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on evaluating, designing, implementing, and integrating embedded software algorithms for 6-DoF simulations, collaborating with an integrated product team on tactical software, firmware, and flight systems.

You will work onsite in Tucson, contributing to performance analyses, system optimization, and agile development processes, aligning with DoD-level security requirements

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, or Mathematics required with 8+ years related experience.
• Experience in GNC, signal processing, or modeling/simulation.
• Experience with missile systems applications including two of: Digital/modern control systems, Dynamics, Kalman filter design, Monte Carlo analysis, system verification/validation.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and OO programming.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship for full clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and test embedded tactical missile flight code.
• Define and execute system-level performance studies and analyses for new capabilities and obsolescence.
• Lead backlog creation, plans, and metrics in an Agile framework.
• Provide guidance to train engineers and improve program efficiency.
• Support missile performance analysis, model development, and Monte Carlo assessments.
