Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Principal, Financial Operations & Software Asset Management to lead FinOps and SAM governance. You will own cost visibility, dashboards, and cross-functional alignment with Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, and platform teams.

You’ll transform data into actionable insights, drive cost optimization for cloud, software, and AI investments, and mentor teams through scalable playbooks and self-service resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of progressive FinOps/SAM/tech financial management experience.
• Experience establishing governance and reporting in matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve enterprise FinOps processes and governance.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security and platform teams.
• Design reusable dashboards and reporting assets for cost visibility.
• Establish metrics, data definitions, tagging, and reporting standards.
• Own SAM processes across software licenses and SaaS subscriptions.
• Identify opportunities to reclaim licenses and optimize subscriptions.
• Analyze cloud/software/AI consumption to surface cost drivers and risks.
• Develop balanced recommendations on cost, performance and security.
• Maintain an optimization opportunity pipeline and track savings.
• Empower teams with playbooks, training, and self-service resources.
