Job summary

State Street is seeking a seasoned Dev Lead and Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise applications, data platforms, analytics, reporting, and cloud-native solutions.

The candidate will own end-to-end architecture, guide backend services, data engineering, and UI integration, and mentor globally distributed teams. Deep expertise in Java, Spring, Databricks, Python, Oracle DB, and BI tools is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT experience with senior architecture and leadership roles
• Experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Core/MVC/Boot and enterprise backend systems
• Governing data platforms with Databricks, Python, Spark, and SQL
• Strong data optimization and scalable system design
• Experience with UI integration using React and data visualization tools

Responsibilities

• Define and govern data and analytics architecture using Databricks, Python, Spark, SQL and Oracle databases
• Lead architecture and design of Java/J2EE and Spring-based backend systems and APIs
• Architect and guide rule engines and business logic frameworks
• Drive performance tuning and data modeling across databases and analytics workloads
• Oversee BI/reporting platforms like Power BI and Tableau for trusted datasets
• Ensure alignment between backend, data, analytics and front-end React applications
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions
• Provide architectural standards and governance for security and compliance
• Mentor globally distributed development and QA teams on delivery practices
• Lead production issue response with root-cause analysis and improvements
• Advise on platform modernization and technology roadmaps
