Job summary

State Street is seeking a Senior Platform Engineering Manager to guide backend and data platforms in a cloud-native setting. You will shape architecture, set engineering standards, and drive reliability for mission-critical wealth technology.

You will lead cross-functional teams, partner with product, risk, and security groups, and deliver scalable, auditable systems with strong regulatory controls and cost efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software and platform engineering.
• Cloud-native data platforms on AWS/GCP/Azure experience.
• High-availability, multi-region deployments and resiliency testing.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform/CloudFormation and CI/CD automation.
• Data processing, CDC, and large-scale data migration experience.
• Experience in regulated environments with risk, compliance, and security partners.
• Leadership of global engineering teams and FinOps-driven cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Leads end-to-end cloud-native data platforms as products for enterprise use.
• Drives adoption of public cloud databases with standardized patterns and self-service tooling.
• Architects highly resilient distributed systems meeting availability and regulatory requirements.
• Partners with Risk, Compliance, and Security to ensure auditability and data protection.
• Executes large cloud transformation initiatives including zero-downtime migrations.
• Builds and scales high-performing teams delivering cost efficiencies and automation.
