Job summary

State Street Global Technology Services seeks a Sr. Developer and data engineer to design and deliver risk management applications, modern web-based apps, and AI-enabled solutions.

You will drive data and AI platform strategy, and lead engineering across web, data, and AI domains on AWS with Databricks. The role requires hands-on leadership, deep experience in Java and Python, and a track record in large-scale data engineering with cloud-native architectures.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software and data engineering.
• Strong hands-on background in Java and Python development.
• Proven experience leading web-based applications, APIs, and services in enterprise environments.
• Deep experience in Data Engineering and large-scale platforms.
• Significant experience with Databricks on AWS, including Spark / PySpark.
• Practical experience applying AI/ML tools and techniques in production or enterprise platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define data and AI platform strategy spanning web applications, APIs, data pipelines, and AI-enabled services.
• Drive adoption of cloud-native, scalable architectures on AWS, leveraging Databricks as core data/AI platform.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices across web, data, and AI domains.
• Ensure platforms align with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead design and evolution of web-based applications and services using Java, Python, and modern web architectures.
• Oversee development of RESTful APIs, microservices, and UI-driven applications integrated with enterprise data platforms.
• Provide technical leadership for enterprise-scale data engineering solutions.
• Oversee design and optimization of batch and streaming data pipelines using Databricks on AWS.
• Lead integration of AI/ML tools and techniques into web and data platforms.
• Enable development of AI-ready datasets, feature engineering pipelines, and model inference capabilities.
