Job summary

Ll Oefentherapie is seeking an engineer to perform EMT studies and support PSCAD modeling for grid reliability and compliance. The role involves working with OEMs, preparing technical reports, attending stakeholder meetings, and staying current with NERC/FERC developments.

CHIL testing support for energy storage and onsite generation is possible. Ideal candidates will have hands-on EMT experience, familiarity with grid codes, and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT studies such as SSR, SSCI, ferro-resonance, TOV, SOV, TRV, power quality (harmonics, flicker), energization.
• Assist in developing and tuning models with OEMs to meet grid code requirements.
• Produce/review technical reports and presentations for an executive audience.
• Serve as SME for PSCAD modeling and special studies.
• Serve as SME for transmission grid reliability, modeling and compliance.
• Attend industry large load stakeholder meetings and drive proactive changes.
• Stay up to date with market changes in terms of NERC, FERC planning procedures, policy changes and developments.
• Support interconnection model development and review of utility-commissioned technical deliverables.
• Maintain knowledge of NERC standards related to grid modeling.
• Contribute to the team’s research and innovation activities.
• Support CHIL testing of BESS, fuel cells, or onsite generation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Electro-magnetic Transient (EMT) Studies such as sub synchronous resonance (SSR), control interaction (SSCI), ferro-resonance, temporary overvoltage (TOV), switching overvoltage (SOV), transient recovery voltage (TRV), power quality (harmonic, and flicker ), energization, etc.

• Assist in developing and tuning models in collaboration with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to achieve desired performance requirement established in grid codes.

• Produce and/or review technical reports and presentations and translate for an executive audience.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PSCAD modeling and special studies.

• Serve as a SME for transmission grid reliability, modeling and compliance.

• Actively attend industry large load stakeholder meetingsand drive proactive changes.

• Stay up to date with assigned market changes in terms of NERC, FERC planning procedures, policy changes and developments.

• Support interconnection model development and review of utility commissioned technical deliverables.

• Maintain up to date knowledge of NERC standards related to grid modeling.

• Contribute to the team’s research and innovation activities.

• Support CHIL testing of BESS, Fuel cells, or any onsite generation technologies
