Job summary

Pratt & Whitney seeks an experienced engineer to plan and develop model predictive control and parameter estimation for military and commercial engines. You will model engine dynamics, develop control laws, and verify FDIA algorithms, collaborating with stakeholders across the program lifecycle.

Required: STEM degree with 8 years of experience or 5 with an advanced degree; DoD Secret clearance eligibility. Opportunities include trainings and mentorship within a strong aerospace team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of engineering experience or 5 years with an advanced degree
  • Experience planning and developing control laws and verification methods

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop model predictive control and parameter estimation algorithms for military and commercial engine programs.
  • Develop engine, actuation, and fuel system dynamic models and derive functional requirements for control law algorithms.
  • Create and improve process and standards for development, validation, and verification of engine control laws and FDIA algorithms.
  • Provide technical review and oversight of control law algorithm design and analysis.
  • Mentor team members and update control law training materials.
