Job summary

Leadout Capital’s AgentExchange team is seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff to lead the engineering vision for the AI-powered Search and Personalization services. You will own the technical direction for discovery at scale and drive AI-native engineering across the search stack.

You will oversee the migration strategy (Heroku to Falcon), ensure 99.95% availability, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to deliver contextually relevant discovery across multiple surfaces within

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with leadership on enterprise-scale search, recommendation, or personalization systems.
• Proven ability to define and drive long-term technical vision and roadmaps for large search/ML-infused domains.
• Hands-on experience with real-time data pipelines for indexing and signal ingestion.
• Experience integrating LLMs or GenAI into search products — AI-generated summaries, semantic search, or conversational retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and delivery of major Search & Personalization capabilities.
• GenAI search — AI overview results, next-best query suggestions, and natural language query understanding.
• Multi-turn agentic search — conversational discovery with recommendations and contextual follow-up.
• Personalization service — behavioral and preference-based ranking and recommendations.
• Contextual discovery service — powering embedded AgentExchange discovery surfaces within product surfaces.
• Own engineering excellence across the search stack: observability, latency budgets, and security governance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Platform Services, Marketing and Growth, and Embedded Exchanges teams.
