Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to architect the shift to Agentic Search for LinkedIn Search. You will lead multi-step reasoning, autonomous execution, and tool orchestration across ranking and infrastructure teams to deliver adaptive, agent-driven search for 1B+ members.

You’ll set technical standards, mentor engineers, and build POCs for new paradigms while ensuring enterprise-grade trust and safety at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software design and development with algorithms.
• 5+ years in architect/leadership roles (Staff/Principal).
• Strong background in ML/AI and experience with search technologies.
• Degree in CS or related technical field; coding experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale multi-agent reasoning frameworks and tool use protocols.
• Define systems for model evaluation, orchestration, and memory management.
• Implement safety guardrails and robust error handling for production LLMs.
• Lead technical standards and mentor engineers across teams.
• Architect systems turning static search into adaptive agent-driven intelligence.
