Job summary

Xero is seeking a senior technical leader for Reporting & Insights to set the multi‑year architecture across our reporting platforms. You’ll guide data platform evolution, ensure accuracy, and drive AI‑native capabilities, working with engineers, product leads, and leadership.

You’ll collaborate across Vancouver and San Mateo teams, helping grow engineers, define shared foundations, and steer the wider data and AI direction in this pivotal role.

Qualifications

• Set technical strategy for a domain over a multi‑year horizon and align multiple teams.
• Lead the evolution of a large, high‑traffic, correctness‑critical system.
• Demonstrate depth in high‑throughput, low‑latency, resilient distributed systems.
• Connect AI shifts to product and architecture strategy; define AI/NLU integration.
• Grow Lead and Senior Engineers and translate complex direction into action.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi‑year technical strategy and target architecture for Reporting & Insights.
• Define foundations for AI‑native reporting and ensure accuracy with the ledger.
• Lead cross‑team collaboration across regions and product groups.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.
