Xero is seeking a Lead Engineer for the accounting core platform with ownership of architecture, data contracts, and reliability. You will influence service boundaries, data contracts, and technology choices while shaping a growing Vancouver-driven team that serves millions of users across the ledger.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver durable, high-throughput systems that power AI-ready experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highly available, distributed backend systems.
• Depth in system architecture and API design.
• Proficiency in backend stacks like C#, Java, Go, or C++ with AWS.
• Ability to break down complex problems into clear solutions and enable agile execution.
• Experience with durable execution or workflow engines (Temporal) is a plus.
