Job summary

ServiceTitan is building an AI-native developer platform, delivering agent orchestration, harnesses, and LLM reasoning loops to enable enterprise-scale SaaS engineering at AI speed. The DevEx team is lean, highly capable, and responsible for setting technical direction that others will follow.

The Principal Engineer will drive system designs, mentor peers, and shape the roadmap for AI-native tooling across R&D, aligning with broader platform goals and ensuring scalable, secure architectures.

Qualifications

• 15-20+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on work building coding-agent-runtime infrastructure.
• Track record at Principal-level scope with architectural decisions that others build on.
• Deep experience with build systems, CI/CD, or internal developer platforms shipped in production.
• Comfort setting direction with minimal oversight in a small, high-trust team.
• Experience with coding agents and AI-assisted tooling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design complete system architectures for coding-agent infrastructure.
• Deliver autonomous projects in partnership with R&D peers and remove blockers across the org.
• Mentor engineers up to Staff level and raise the technical bar.
• Influence engineering direction across multiple teams on agent-runtime architecture.
• Define roadmap for AI-native developer tooling and related platform surface.
