Job summary

ServiceTitan is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to be the deepest technical voice on our DevX platform team. This IC role defines direction, makes architecture calls, and ships the most critical parts of the platform at enterprise scale.

You will lead through influence, mentor senior engineers, and own high-leverage components like CI/CD, internal developer portals, and AI-assisted tooling within a secure, scalable environment.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of software engineering experience with platform or DevX focus.
• Deep hands-on ability: actively coding, reviewing, debugging production systems.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, build systems, or internal developer portals.
• Strong command of modern developer tool architecture: containers, orchestration, cloud infra.
• Expertise in environment safety: RBAC, secrets management, automated gates.
• Fluency with velocity metrics (DORA) as design inputs.
• Ability turning ambiguous strategy into a technical roadmap without management authority.
• Proven record raising the technical bar through code reviews and design leadership.
• Hands-on experience with coding agent runtimes or related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the platform: architecture, contracts, and long-term tradeoffs.
• Design and build the highest-leverage, high-ambition platform components.
• Review designs and code; serve as escalation point for tough decisions.
• Debug the hardest production issues: pipeline failures, infra drift, flaky tests.
• Partner with Product/Security/SRE to align platform roadmap with usage constraints.
• Mentor engineers and EMs through code/design reviews and pairing.
• Translate DevX strategy into a concrete roadmap for teams to execute.
• Represent platform in cross-functional reviews; be a technical reference.
• Own AI-assisted developer tooling and agent runtime infra at scale.
