Hartmann Young Limited is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to shape the next generation of medical imaging tech. The role combines architecture, firmware development and mentoring, with ownership across new products and improvements to an imaging portfolio.

Responsibilities include leading embedded software architecture, real-time firmware, device drivers and interfaces. You will mentor engineers, drive Agile delivery and collaborate across hardware, product, testing and service

Qualifications

• Extensive embedded software development experience, typically 12+ years (or 10+ with a master’s).
• Expert C/C++ and assembly, strong architecture, multithreading and integration.
• Deep RTOS expertise and secure firmware updates.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design and development of embedded software for imaging products.
• Develop and optimize real-time firmware, drivers and interfaces for constrained systems.
• Own testing, debugging and corrective actions with documentation and risk support.
• Collaborate with hardware, product management, testing and service teams to translate requirements into products.
• Mentor engineers and improve development practices through Agile, CI and automation.
