Job summary

Cutera, Inc. seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design and development of embedded software for medical device systems, delivering safe, reliable, and high-performance software in line with regulatory standards such as ISO 62304.

You will translate system requirements into robust firmware in C/C++, collaborate with hardware, systems, and quality teams, oversee verification/validation, and support NPI, design transfer, and sustaining engineering while ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 12+ years of embedded software development experience in medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software development across the full medical device lifecycle per ISO 62304.
• Define system architecture, software requirements, and design specifications with hardware, systems, and quality teams.
• Develop and maintain embedded software in C/C++ for microcontroller/processor-based systems.
