RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to shape secure communications for embedded systems. You will architect and develop software for SDRs, networking, cryptographic systems, and open platform software to enable real-time, secure voice, video, and data for military use.

You will lead large initiatives, mentor developers, and collaborate with top engineers to deliver mission-critical solutions across the globe in an onsite role at Collins Aerospace.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software development across the full lifecycle.
• Background in communications or related products.
• 7+ years in embedded software development.
• 7+ years in Python and C/C++.
• Degree in STEM or equivalent with senior experience; or advanced degree with related experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop embedded software and communication products in C/C++ and Rust.
• Lead requirements, implementation, testing, and certification efforts.
• Develop tools and automated tests supporting CI/CD.
• Mentor software developers and guide large initiatives for timely delivery.
• Support cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives.
• Collaborate with engineers and subject-matter experts on mission-critical systems.
