Job summary

RTX’s Crypto team in Cedar Rapids seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate embedded cryptographic solutions for secure military communications. Proficiency in C++, Python, and embedded Linux is crucial.

You will lead multi-threaded embedded C/C++ development, collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and software teams, and mentor peers while ensuring milestones and certification support. Active DoD Secret clearance required on day one; US citizenship is mandatory.

Qualifications

Requires STEM degree (or advanced degree) with extensive experience.
Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance required before day 1.
Citizenship: U.S. citizen due to security clearance requirements.
Software development and integration on complex multi-threaded embedded C/C++ codebases.
Experience with full lifecycle software development practices and configuration management tools.

Responsibilities
