Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead embedded hardware projects from concept through production. You will provide technical leadership in system architecture, PCB design, and mentoring while guiding teams through a structured lifecycle with stage-gate processes.

You will work with global engineering teams, influence component selections, and engage with customers on technical requirements. This contract role is based in Prince George, VA and pays a high hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in embedded hardware design with 12+ years.
• Lead embedded hardware design and validation for complex products.
• Strong PCB design and layout expertise.
• Broad knowledge of high-complexity electrical projects (power/digital/analog/RF).
• Proficient with DFMEA, scopes, multimeters, and simulation tools.
• Excellent English communication and ability to explain topics.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading teams.
