HP, Inc. seeks a Principal Embedded Firmware and Software Engineer to lead design, development, and debugging of embedded software and firmware for computer systems.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality products, focusing on architecture, security, and system integration across BIOS/UEFI, drivers, and RTOS platforms. An emphasis on CI/CD and AI-assisted tooling is expected.

Qualifications

• Deep proficiency in embedded C and software architecture.
• Experience with BIOS/UEFI, EFI, drivers, RTOS environments.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Solid understanding of firmware security including secure updates.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for architecture, development, security, integration and deployment of embedded firmware and software.
• Analyze hardware and system architectures to define firmware requirements and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues across subsystems with updates and changes.
• Define and drive firmware integration, verification, and validation strategies including automated tests and CI.
• Develop engineering tools and automation using Python and related tech.
