Job summary
HP Inc. is seeking a System Embedded Software Engineer — Security to design, develop, and validate secure embedded software, firmware, and drivers for HP commercial PC platforms.
You will integrate secure boot, cryptographic services, device onboarding, and firmware update protection across the full firmware lifecycle. Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in CS/CE or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded software/security with hands-on secure firmware delivery.
- Hands-on with secure firmware development.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure embedded software, firmware, and driver components for commercial PC platforms.
- Define security requirements for firmware features, system interfaces, update mechanisms, device identity, and onboarding flows.
- Perform threat modeling, risk assessment, and secure design reviews across embedded software and firmware architectures.
- Implements secure boot, measured boot, cryptographic protocols, key management, access control, and firmware update protection.
- Investigates, reproduces, and resolves firmware security issues identified via testing or external reports.
