Job summary

RigUp in Billings, MT is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical delivery across oil and gas projects. You will provide technical leadership, supervise engineers and designers, and drive high-quality, safe outcomes for complex refinery environments.

Ideal candidates have 8–15+ years in oil and gas, a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on MV/LV experience. This is a long-term, contract role with 100% on-site work at two company locations in Billings and Bismarck.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and practical skills.
• Experience with MV/LV distribution systems and protective devices.
• English written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of electrical engineers and designers on oil/gas/chemical projects.
• Plan, organize, and direct engineering work to meet schedules and budgets.
• Ensure safety-in-design and quality from conception through project delivery.
• Coordinate with management, clients, and other disciplines to meet objectives.
• Review deliverables and guide technical direction for compliance and performance.
