Job summary

RigUp is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering services for a diverse oil, gas, and chemical project portfolio. The role will be based on-site at either Billings, MT or Bismarck, ND, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The successful candidate will guide execution, manage a team of engineers and designers, and ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes across projects with tight schedules.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 8–15+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience in oil, gas, refinery, or chemical sectors.
• Background in power systems engineering, electrical design, protection schemes, and hazardous refinery environments.
• Proficiency with ETAP, PSCAD, and SPL software; TN visa eligible candidates considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering service delivery across a complex portfolio of oil, gas, and chemical projects.
• Mentor engineers and designers; manage workflow and project tasks.
• Plan LV/MV distribution systems, equipment selection, protective relays, and power management configurations.
• Conduct and review power systems studies and protective device settings.
• Coordinate with project management, interdisciplinary leads, and client representatives to align goals and quality standards.
• Oversee procurement, bid evaluations, and purchase orders; drive change management and scope control.
