Job summary

Advanced Energy seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead design, development, testing and delivery of innovative power solutions. You will work directly with customers, translate requirements into impactful technical solutions, and shape the future of our technology.

You will combine technical depth with strategic thinking, mentor engineers and technicians, and collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and senior leaders to achieve outstanding results on mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of kV high-voltage design practices and engineering processes.
• Expert-level power electronics design experience.
• AC/DC and DC/DC switched-mode power supply design.
• EMI/EMC design, analysis, and mitigation.
• Magnetic component design and optimization.
• Power component selection including MOSFETs and GaN devices.
• Feedback control analysis and design.
• Discrete analog and digital circuit design.
• Embedded systems design with microcontrollers/FPGA.
• PCB layout and noise mitigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze systems, products, and subsystems to spec, cost, schedule and quality.
• Diagnose issues across design, field performance, reliability, and test yields; implement corrective actions.
• Own product/system success in customers’ applications; drive actions as needed.
• Follow Product Development Process and ECO procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to achieve cost reductions and quality improvements.
