Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in San Diego, CA is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead circuit design efforts. You will own the full lifecycle for circuits development, from detailed design and schematic capture to PCB layout and prototype testing, supporting qualification and production.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive engineering experience and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 5+ years engineering experience OR Master’s in STEM with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year.
• Active Secret US Government Clearance a plus; ability to obtain/maintain clearance.
• Experience with circuit simulation tools (OrCAD/Pspice/LTspice) and PCB design tools (Altium/Xpedition/Mentor).
• Experience bringing hardware from prototype to production and performing reliability analyses.

Responsibilities

• Own full product lifecycle for circuits development for the program enterprise.
• Perform detailed circuit design, analysis, schematic capture, build component libraries, and PCB layout.
• Build and test prototype hardware, design ATE, and create test scripts.
• Support qualification and assist manufacturing and production teams.
• Comply with IPC and military standards and support security requirements.
