Job summary

Echodyne, a leader in compact solid-state radar technology, seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer for Accessories to own the electrical architecture of our accessory portfolio. You will drive from concept to production, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability while leading COTS, build-to-print, and vendor collaborations.

Qualifications

• Experience defining electrical architecture for complex electronic/electromechanical products, balancing SWaP, performance, reliability and cost.
• Knowledge of power conversion, distribution, wiring, networking, embedded computing platforms, connectors, harnesses, grounding, electrical protection.
• Ability to analyze wire sizing, voltage drop, shielding, crosstalk, EMI/EMC, thermal effects, and system topology.
• Experience leading COTS evaluation, build-to-print and design-to-spec with specifications and reviews.
• Experience leading electrical integration, verification, and qualification incl. EMI/EMC, safety and reliability.
• Experience bringing electrical hardware to production release with DFM/DFA/DFT and configuration management.
• Ability to navigate broad direction, resolve cross-disciplinary problems, manage risks and align cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical architecture, derived requirements, and interfaces for assigned accessory products and programs.
• Define and drive electrical solutions from concept through detailed design, including trade studies and risk decisions.
• Lead execution of COTS, build-to-print, vendor co-development, and design-to-spec solutions with clear interfaces and acceptance criteria.
• Lead electrical integration, verification, qualification, and release readiness with EMI/EMC, safety, reliability, and interface verification.
• Support NPI, production, and sustaining changes by resolving electrical, integration, manufacturing, quality, and field issues.
• Provide Principal-level technical leadership, conduct major reviews, mentor engineers, and promote reusable architectures and practices.
