Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional is seeking a Principal, Document Standards & Quality to own the Document Quality System and define standards for typography, hierarchy, and formatting. You will audit AI output, create gold-standard references, and develop testable rules that ensure professional, linked document structures across legal briefs, contracts, memos, and reports.

Qualifications

Deep expertise in professional document production and typography.
Strong command of Word-style structure: multilevel lists, sections, headers/footers, tables of contents.
Ability to explain why something is wrong, not just that it is.
Experience with document automation, template systems, or design systems.
Familiarity with legal and financial document conventions.

Responsibilities

Define canonical standards for typography, hierarchy, whitespace, tables, headings, pagination, headers and footers, exhibits, and numbering.
Build a document taxonomy and formatting grammar for document families.
Audit AI output, classify formatting defects and report patterns.
Create gold-standard reference documents and test fixtures for AI and engineering teams.
Turn judgment into explicit, testable specifications for document behavior and linkable numbering.
