A leading company is seeking a Principal Digital Electronics Engineer in Cambridge, MA. This hybrid role requires extensive experience in electronic engineering, particularly with radiation-hardened parts. The successful candidate will define hardware architectures, design instruments, and manage multi-disciplinary tasks while mentoring junior engineers. Top Secret security clearance required
Hybrid remote/in-lab position in Cambridge, MA
Direct-hire, Full time position
Required Qualifications:
7-10 years in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
Experience with radiation-hardened parts
Schematic capture and board layout
Embedded systems integration and debugging
Circuit simulation (HyperLynx, Ansys)
Preferred Qualifications:
Mentor Graphics PCB design flow
Xilinx/Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow
Design for harsh environments (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810)
Responsibilities:
Define hardware architectures with cross-functional teams
Design and complete instruments (microprocessors, power, analog)
Innovate, solve issues, and drive project completion
Build/test prototypes, debug, and document for manufacturing
Develop reliable, cost-effective solutions
Manage multi-disciplinary tasks and communicate status
Teach best practices to less experienced engineers
Proficiency in electronic design and embedded computing
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to write detailed design specifications
