Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with embedded software background and a passion for DevSecOps to lead pipeline development and automation efforts.

The role involves designing and implementing new DSO capabilities, optimizing pipelines, and mentoring teammates. This hybrid/onsite position is based in Cedar Rapids, IA, with collaboration across engineering functions.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
• Proficient in C, C++ and Python.
• Experience with C/C++ build tooling and optimization (gcc/g++, clang/LLVM, Make, CMake, Conan, Bazel).
• Experience with Source Control Management (GitHub or GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of new capabilities for DSO pipelines and automations.
• Optimize existing DSO pipeline and automation capabilities.
• Set up and own sandbox environments for technology incubation and development.
• Collaborate across teams to enable rapid onboarding of Cert DevOps technology.
• Mentor, train and onboard teammates.
