Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, Iowa seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own embedded software development and integration across multiple product lines. The role requires a secret clearance from day one and relocation support is provided.

The position emphasizes product ownership in an Agile setting, collaboration with hardware/FPGA teams, and driving security and reliability in critical communications systems. Onsite work is expected at the Cedar Rapids site.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and substantial relevant experience or advanced degree with fewer years.
• Must maintain U.S. government-issued DOD secret security clearance from day 1.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• Experience with embedded C and C++ product software.
• Experience with full lifecycle software development and configuration management tools.
• Knowledge of embedded security software development and integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development and integration for a multi-threaded embedded C++ product codebase.
• Serve as Product Owner within an Agile environment, manage backlogs and priorities.
• Support PI Planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies.
• Define requirements, implement software, and support test case development and verification activities.
• Coordinate dependencies across software, hardware, FPGA, and systems engineering teams.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and promote Agile practices.
• Strengthen security and reliability of critical communications products.
