Job summary

PTC Inc is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer in Boston, MA to lead global cloud infrastructure operations for Onshape. The role emphasizes automation, reliability, security, and scale across a large SaaS platform with hybrid work options.

You will own large‑scale AWS operations, IaC, Linux fleet management, Kubernetes, and platform tooling, while mentoring engineering teams and improving deployment readiness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Cloud Operations, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering or DevOps.
• Strong AWS experience at production scale.
• Expert Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Terraform expertise.
• Ansible, Puppet or Chef experience.
• Kubernetes operational experience.
• Python, Bash or Go automation skills.
• Production on‑call and incident response experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve the cloud platform behind a globally used SaaS product.
• Focus on AWS infrastructure, automation, Linux operations, Kubernetes platforms, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Lead and mentor across engineering teams to raise deployment and platform standards.
• Build and maintain low‑touch, highly automated operational environments.
• Collaborate with security teams on hardening and compliance initiatives.
• Create self‑service capabilities enabling faster engineering work.
