Job summary

PTC in Boston's Seaport is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to help shape Onshape's UI and modeling features. You will work on a one-of-a-kind 3D collaborative CAD application with cloud, web, and mobile tech, in a hybrid office setting.

Bring TypeScript, Java and C++ expertise, plus experience with large codebases and data structures. Collaboration with product, UX, and QA will drive scalable designs and robust back-end services for new UI workflows and modeling capabilities.

Qualifications

Expertise in TypeScript, Java, and C++.
Experience with data structures and algorithms.
Experience with large codebases (1 million lines+).
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Design, implement and improve code related to Onshape’s UI and communications with back-end services.
Tune performance of existing systems to work with larger datasets.
Consult with other developers on system design and implementation.
Implement back-end services to support new UI, workflow, and modeling functionality.
Work with product definition, user experience, and quality assurance teams to refine project specs.
Participate in regular code reviews.
Fix bugs in all parts of the system.
