Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead platform engineering and automation across cloud, on‑premise, and manufacturing environments. You will own infrastructure design, DevSecOps integration, and scalable CI/CD pipelines enabling rapid, reliable deployment of mission-critical systems.

In this high-impact role, you will mentor engineers, shape architecture decisions, and collaborate with Cybersecurity, Zero-Trust, and manufacturing teams to deliver secure, compliant operations

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering with principal-level leadership.
• Hands-on expertise in GovCloud environments and cloud-native security controls.
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps patterns (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or Flux).
• Experience architecting high-availability systems, automated DR solutions, and telemetry suites.

Responsibilities

• Own Platform Architecture and Developer Experience; drive DX improvements across the enterprise.
• Decompose complex infra problems, author design docs, and lead cross-functional execution.
• Unify tooling between Software Engineering, IT, and Networking to remove silos.
• Advance IaC, GitOps, and HA practices (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux) for drift-free lifecycles.
• Own DR/BC architecture and automated backup/failover to minimize recovery time.
