Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to own platform architecture, IaC, and deployment strategy across cloud, on‑prem, and manufacturing environments. You will lead DX initiatives and cross‑functional teams to accelerate mission‑critical software delivery.

Responsibilities include advancing GitOps, securing CI/CD, and extending Kubernetes to edge devices. You will mentor engineers, drive high‑impact decisions, and ensure rapid, reliable recovery with strong observability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infra/Platform with principal‑level leadership.
• Hands‑on mastery of Azure GovCloud / AWS GovCloud, VPC, IAM, security controls.
• Expertise in Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux).
• Experience in HA systems, automated DR, telemetry (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Secrets management (Vault, Key Vaults) in automated pipelines.
• Experience with hosted AI model integrations in CI/CD.
• Collaborative leader who builds trust and enables outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture, deployment strategies, and DX across environments.
• Decompose complex infra problems and lead cross‑functional execution.
• Unify tooling between software, IT, and Networking; reduce silos.
• Advance IaC and GitOps for drift‑free lifecycles across cloud and on‑prem.
• Extend Kubernetes/LCA to edge and shop‑floor hardware per hybrid strategy.
• Own disaster recovery and business continuity with minutes MTTR.
• Lead DevSecOps and AI pipeline integration into CI/CD workflows.
• Maintain telemetry, metrics, and alerts for real‑time visibility.
• Mentor engineers and drive high‑impact technical decisions.
