Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Datastore team, shaping scalable data models and architecture for brain data used across studies and platforms.

You will guide architectural direction, draft RFCs, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, platform, and scientific colleagues. This fully remote US role roots in Beacon's hubs for in-person collaboration as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend development experience focused on data platforms.
• Strong PostgreSQL production experience.
• Experience with data streaming and event processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar).

Responsibilities

• Define scalable data models and architecture for the Datastore.
• Draft RFCs and guide cross-team design discussions.
• Coach engineers to improve data integrity, quality, and maintainability.
