Klaviyo seeks an experienced data platform senior IC to own and evolve our data platform, including streaming, batch compute, storage, and governance. You will design scalable systems, set SLOs, and drive autonomous data workflows with AI-assisted tooling.

The role is individual contributor, leading through architecture, code, and collaboration with product teams and analytics/ML. Prior leadership is through influence, not direct reports.

• Design and implement core data platform capabilities (ingestion/CDC, stream processing, batch orchestration, lakehouse patterns).
• Define and uphold SLOs for data freshness, availability and correctness.
• Author ADRs/RFCs, land data contracts and governance templates.
• Profile, tune, and right-size systems for performance and cost; partner with FinOps.
• Collaborate with product analytics/ML to expose useful abstractions.
• Contribute high-quality code and reviews; mentor staff engineers through examples.
