Job summary

Klaviyo is expanding its Data Platform team in Boston, seeking an engineer to design, build, and maintain our real-time data analytics infrastructure on AWS. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver scalable data systems and provide mentorship across the engineering organization.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software engineering, strong Linux and cloud experience, and ability to communicate effectively in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline.
• Highly skilled in using at least one modern programming language.
• Experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform or a similar infrastructure as code tool.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud computing environment.
• Experience using Linux operating systems.
• Experience with OLTP and OLAP databases.
• Experience with high volume data processing and storage systems.
• Able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
• Able to work with others on a team.
• Able to learn continuously and adapt to a high growth environment.
• Able to stick with and solve difficult problems.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining mission critical data and analytics infrastructure.
• Write technical design documents, create system infrastructure, and operate large scale systems in production.
• Review other engineer’s designs and code, and provide technical mentorship.
