Job summary

Klar seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and scale a modern data platform. You will shape ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption across the company, enabling AI/ML, real-time analytics, and fraud detection. You will own core platform initiatives from day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or a related technical field.
• Proven experience building large-scale data platforms.
• Hands-on with data lakes/lakehouses (Apache Iceberg).
• Strong SQL, Python, and Git skills.
• Deep AWS experience (S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena).
• Experience with streaming systems (Kafka, RisingWave, Flink).
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow, Dagster).
• Advanced English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data lakes and lakehouses with Iceberg and AWS.
• Develop streaming and batch pipelines for large-scale data.
• Implement real-time ingestion using Kafka and ensure reliability.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure (Redshift, S3, Glue) and governance.
• Collaborate with analytics, eng, and business teams for AI/ML use cases.
• Define data quality, monitoring, and reliability practices.
• Own projects and guide the direction of the data platform.
