Job summary

Vuori is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data pipelines enabling analytics across ingestion, staging, and serving layers. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to set technical direction and raise the bar for the data platform.

You will lead ingestion patterns for REST APIs, flat files, JSON/XML, and SFTP sources, and mentor others while contributing to CI/CD for pipelines in Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory pipelines, data flows, linked services and triggers.
• Experience extracting and normalizing data from REST APIs, flat files, JSON/XML, and SFTP/blob drops.
• Comfortable writing extraction logic handling pagination, authentication, and incremental syncs.
• Experience parsing and modeling semi-structured JSON data within Snowflake VARIANT/FLATTEN.
• 8+ years of data engineering experience, with senior/technical lead responsibilities.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Strong communication across analytics, product, and engineering teams.
• Degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
• Familiarity with Terraform or ARM/Bicep and CI/CD practices.
• Exposure to real-time analytics or streaming tech.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale data pipelines for analytics across ingestion to serving layers.
• Build and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines for end-to-end data orchestration.
• Define ingestion patterns for REST APIs, flat files, JSON/XML, and SFTP data sources.
• Develop robust extraction logic with pagination, auth and delta pulls.
• Parse semistructured JSON into relational structures within Snowflake.
• Handle large-scale file ingestion with validation and backfill strategies.
• Contribute to CI/CD for ADF pipelines across environments.
• Set technical standards and mentor other data engineers.
