Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Principal / Senior Principal Cyber Software Engineer to join our team supporting a Signals Intelligence program in Chantilly, VA.

You will develop software for embedded systems, contribute to technical direction, and collaborate across agile teams on mission-critical solutions. This role requires TS/SCI with poly, strong C/C++, Python, RTOS experience, and a proven ability to deliver in a security-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with poly to be considered.
• TS/SCI with poly eligibility must be in place by start date and remain through employment.
• Experience with embedded software development using C/C++.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience on Agile teams delivering solutions.
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software to meet mission partner requirements.
• Develop user and developer-level documentation.
• Set the team’s technical direction in alignment with operational requirements and sponsor roadmap.
• Review and improve processes (development, test, governance, stakeholder interactions).
• Communicate project status, roadblocks, and proposals to team and stakeholders.
• Prioritize development efforts with mission partners.
• Define complexity, scope, and resources for integrating new requirements.
