Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal Crew and Equipment Design Engineer (or Sr. Principal) to lead design and integration of equipment/LRUs on aircraft platforms.

The role is based on-site in Melbourne, FL with a secret clearance and a path to higher levels. Responsibilities include leading teams, collaborating with structure, electrical, hydraulics, and manufacturing, and facilitating design reviews to ensure requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications for Principal Engineer include a STEM bachelor’s and 5+ years of experience, a Master’s with 3+ years, or a PhD with no experience.
• Sr. Principal Engineer requires 8+ years with a STEM degree; Master’s 6+ years; PhD 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Develops ICDs, creates layouts, machined parts, and installs of system equipment (LRU).
• Uses NX for 3D Model-Based Definition and releases engineering packages using Teamcenter CPLM.
• Leads or mentors others and works with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborates with vehicle sub-system departments to ensure design integration and compliance.
• Facilitates design reviews and stakeholder meetings to meet requirements.
