Job summary

Escape Velocity Entertainment Inc. is seeking a Principal Combat Designer to lead and refine combat mechanics for a diverse cast of characters in a fully remote role.

You will collaborate with Design Director and other leads to drive the combat vision for a robust online multiplayer experience, designing weapons and abilities with a player-centric focus. The role requires shipped AAA experience in mechanics design, expert use of design tools, and strong communication with cross-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Two shipped AAA titles in mechanics design
• Expert knowledge of design tools
• Unreal Engine (UE5 preferred)
• Strong communication and collaboration
• Player-focused design philosophy

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design Director and Leads to drive combat design for a robust online multiplayer experience.
• Design expert-level player combat mechanics, weapons and abilities.
• Coordinate with art and engineering to align mechanics before development.
• Advocate for the player and prioritize player experience in decisions.
