Job summary

Sonatype is seeking a Principal Sales Engineer with a deep Cloud Architect background to serve as the premier technical specialist for complex enterprise architectures in Seattle. You will partner with Fortune 500 prospects to architect secure, scalable supply chains within AWS, IaC, and Kubernetes ecosystems, positioning Sonatype in their cloud-native strategy.

In this role you will lead technical discovery, design, and demonstrations, drive PoCs, and mentor the broader SE team while aligning

Qualifications

Proven Cloud Architect or Lead Infrastructure Engineer background in a sales context.
Deep AWS production experience (EKS, IAM, VPC, ECS) and security controls.
Hands-on Terraform and Helm for Kubernetes deployments.
Experience with multi-stakeholder PoCs and technical evaluations in Fortune 500 space.
Ability to translate complex infrastructure capabilities into business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery and design complex architectural blueprints for enterprise cloud environments.
Guide prospects on embedding Sonatype solutions into CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Helm.
Advise on safely harnessing Cloud AI and LLM data within software supply chains without new risks.
Translate architectural value into clear business outcomes and risk mitigation strategies.
Mentor the SE team on infra deep-dives and influence product roadmaps.
