Job summary

Sonos, Inc. is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Architect to design cloud and on‑premise infrastructure, producing reusable blueprints and scalable solutions that align with business goals.

This role sits at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and strategy, serving as designer, escalation point, and mentor for global operations. Based in the Boston or Seattle area, this hybrid role requires 3 days in the office and hands‑on experience with AWS, IaC, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with data center, cloud, web, and data service technologies.
• Experience in a DevOps or software engineering role, with proficiency in AWS.
• Working knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows administration, and Akamai.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Qualified applicants must be able to work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of cloud and on-premise infrastructure, producing reusable blueprints standard across teams.
• Define and drive the IaC strategy for the IT organization, establishing tooling standards.
• Partner with Network Engineering to ensure designs align with standards and business requirements.
• Define SOPs for installations and ensure resiliency and readiness for service transition to Global Operations.
• Automate and improve development and release processes with QE and other teams.
• Identify technology innovations and assess feasibility and value with stakeholders.
• Act as escalation point and SME for operations, guiding complex production issues.
• Mentor the Global Operations team in Incident, Change, and Release Management.
